Whitechapel Pre-school is open Monday - Thursday 9am-3.30pm, term time only.
We run a Breakfast Club on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 8am - 9am and an Afterschool Club on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 3.30pm-5pm depending on uptake.
Children can be booked in for a morning session, 9am-12noon, morning session plus lunch, 9am-1.30pm or full day 9am-3.30pm. We only accept children attending two or more sessions as we find children settle better, develop routines and engage in play and learning when they attend the setting more frequently.
We offer government funded places for eligible 2, 3 and 4 year olds and accept childcare vouchers and employer schemes to help pay for fees. Please visit this link for more information.
Fees are charged at £5.50 per hour for 2 year olds and £5.00 per hour for 3 & 4 year olds.
Pre-school also charges £2.90 per day for a cooked school lunch, 50p per day for nappies and wipes and £6.00 for a pre-school drawstring bag.
Parents can opt out of the above charges and provide a packed school lunch, nappies & wipes and pre-school bag from home if they prefer.

This is an approximate of the day, anything can happen with small children so we often follow their needs changing routines if needed.
8am-9am – Breakfast club. Children are able to play and have breakfast of toast, cereal and milk.
9am – Children arrive at pre-school and great each other with our good morning song. There are opportunities for children to play indoor and out (sometimes this is free flow) based upon the children’s interests and next steps, including adult initiated activities. Staff join in their play extending vocabulary and introducing new concepts, language and ideas, challenging children’s thinking.
10:15am - Snack time. Children access this independently with adult supervision. It includes pouring drinks, collecting their snacks, recognising their name, washing up and putting their things away.
10:45am – Circle time. Children are split into smaller groups based upon their age/stage of development and understanding. They participate in a variety of activities including listening and attention, phonics, singing, or the book of the week. This is read every day to all children.
11am - Further play as above. If children are going outside they are encouraged to get themselves ready for outdoor play as independently as possible.
12:30pm – Lunch time. All staff and children enjoy lunch together. During the summer term pre-school children eat in the dinner hall with a member of staff as this helps with the transition up to big school.
1:30pm - Further play inside and out.
3:15pm – All the children come together with a member of staff to chat about the day and sing our goodbye song.
3:30pm-5pm – After school club (Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays) more play along with a snack of sandwiches, toast, crackers and fruit.
